About the Patricia Pratt Foundation
The Patricia Pratt Foundation champions the transformative power of education, driven by the enduring legacy of Patricia Pratt.
A Legacy Rooted in Education
Patricia Pratt, raised in Tennessee by Doria and Milton Green, developed a profound appreciation for education from her parents. They instilled in her the belief that education is a cornerstone of family well-being and a stronger society. This foundational value propelled Patricia to break barriers as the first woman invited to join the Master’s and Doctorate programs at the University of Tennessee’s College of Business in the 1970s.
Igniting a Spark in Los Cabos
In 2003, Patricia and her husband, Arthur, found a second home in the vibrant community of Cabo San Lucas. Their love for the area soon led to a discovery: a significant lack of educational opportunities for local youth. Inspired by a local young aspiring to become a lawyer who sought their help, they partnered with a local church to support his education. This act of compassion ignited the creation of the Charity Development of Los Cabos (CDLC) in the U.S. and the Green Scholarship Program (GSP) in Mexico.
Continuing Patricia’s Dream
Patricia Pratt believed that “the greatest gift a parent can give to a child is confidence”. She also recognized that while “people have good hearts and good values, sometimes they lack educational opportunities”. Following her passing in 2023, her Trustee established the Patricia Pratt Foundation in 2024 to carry forward her dream. The Foundation proudly continues its vital partnership with the Green Scholarship Program in Los Cabos, empowering youth through education.
